La Boda-Bryllup
Handsome Guys Get Hitched at the Hacienda

Saturday 7 Oct 2023 16:30 – Late (Pick up at the Hyatt at 3:45pm)
The formal ceremony will be held at Hacienda Xtepén, a grand and spectacular landmark hacienda sprawling over 450 hectares, which has been in the Casares family since the 18th century. Recognised as one of the most beautiful haciendas in the Yucatán Peninsula, the name “Xtepén” means “butterfly” in Mayan.
We will have the entire hacienda to ourselves, with events planned throughout the grounds, starting in the Ficus Forest, before moving to the very aptly called Unicorn Hall (where the henequen was stored), the Chapel, the Garden of the 4 Seasons and the main house, so there will be some walking (and of course a lot of dancing!). We will be providing sandals for our guests if you want to change your footwear throughout the evening.
The hacienda is owned by the Casares family and is actively used, and the stunning Hacienda dining room have seen innumerable family meals. Ricardo and Seb managed to escape here during London’s second lockdown in December 2020 where we had our Christmas celebration with Ricardo's parents, sisters, aunts, uncles and cousins. The hacienda is managed by uncle Raul Casares-Vales, son of Raul Casares-G. Cantón, the brother of Ricardo’s late grandfather Eduardo Casares, and while visiting you will find family photos of Ricardo’s mum, aunties and uncles from when they were little, and now.

Dress code: Formal, with gowns (or pant suits) for women, and suits for men (black-tie optional). Vibrant colours are encouraged for men and women. Hats and feathers are welcome. For inspiration, think foreign dignitaries in the colonial era. Octobers in Yucatán tend to be warm, 25-28 degrees in the day and 21-25 degrees in the evening, so do think of light and breathy fabrics with a shawl for the evening (or to protect against the sun and mosquitoes).
Colour palette: The hacienda has colour tones of “Roman red”, which would complement Yellow, Rose, Peach, Apricot, Lavender, Olive green, Emerald, Midnight Blue and white. Tip: Men and women should consider bringing shoe change, for when the dancing gets real.
Transportation: Please be on time at 3pm at the Hyatt Hotel for transportation
